11th february,1987.........

Now that you know about my father, i'll introduce you to a second important character in my life.

.On 11th february 1987 ,my father v.sreekumar.nair. married hansa devi.a.r in a gala wedding ceremony.
well it was a good enough ceremony..

(now seriously don't even tease me by asking me how i would know.... i saw the tapes.)

my mom is one of the sweetest ,nicest ,kindest ladies around (naturally!!!everybody says these things about their moms.no suprise there..) .
when my dad married her his friends must've been jealous of him to have married such a gorgeous lady.
although now most of her beauty has been lost to continuous illness, post pregnancy fatness, and negligence ,she still is quite pretty..(atleast to me she is).

In the coming posts i shall introduce you to my mother,
but now we might have to talk about the wedding itself......

his life

As he turned 19 my father had already accepted the responsibilities of his family, a sick father, 2 sisters and a still young brother.
He had started working at goa for hindustan ciba geigy(u might know them as the manufacturers of cibaca and binaca toothpastes) in the filling section for pesticides and chemicals(they had an agricultural section too).

Long hours and night shifts and a what would have been a lonely bachelor life was thankfully avoided by a group of close malayali friends in goa.

Kavi (the poet) as he is still known among this group was very gregarious and people loved him and respected him for who he was, a simple, talented short tempered but jovial person.
even today the ties of over 25 yrs are still maintained . Even now they are like a bunch of burly teenagers when they are together although some of them have grandchildren of my age.

Kavi was active in his literary life too, writing plays and songs for the KERALA SAMJAM panjim,

during the years to come he would be introduced to some of the greatest cultural and literary figures of the malayalam society.
this is perhaps his life's greatest achievement.

As the years will go his father who was his role model would've passed on to the nether world,
and the brother in him would've completed his duties towards his sisters.

As the realization that he was now quite alone eventhough he was not "literally", crept in

My father decided to marry at the age of 35
